Piano Lessons
Kenton offers lessons for students of all ages, in Nanaimo, B.C., or online. As a composer and arranger, Kenton spends time at the piano daily, bringing that expertise into every lesson. Students develop real-world skills, including reading chord charts, comping alongside a bass line, and improvising with confidence. Whether you’re just starting out or looking to expand your musical abilities, Kenton creates a welcoming space that encourages growth, creativity, and discovering your own voice.
Studio Environment
Lessons take place in a comfortable, welcoming studio space. The atmosphere is relaxed and encouraging, helping students feel confident as they develop their musicianship. Online students receive clear camera angles, shared lesson notes, and digital resources to support effective learning from home.

Lesson Structure & Format
Lessons are designed to be flexible, accessible, and enjoyable.
Lesson lengths: 30 minutes ($40), 45 minutes ($60) or 60 minutes ($75)
In-person lessons in Nanaimo
Online lessons available for students outside the area (via Google Meet — no paid membership required)
Frequency: Weekly recommended; biweekly scheduling may be accommodated on a limited basis
Teaching approach: Supportive, goal-based, and adaptable to each student’s learning style
Materials: Method books, repertoire collections, lead sheets, creative exercises, and personalized resources focused on essential piano technique
