Flute Lessons
Kenton offers lessons for students in Nanaimo, B.C. or online using Google Meets or Zoom. Lessons often focus on building fluid technique, rich tone, musicality, and improving on ear training. Whether you’re picking up the flute for the first time, joining elementary or high school band soon, or a semi professional learning to improvise over any chord progression, Kenton will help you grow as a confident, expressive player.
Studio Environment
Lessons take place in a comfortable, welcoming studio space. The atmosphere is relaxed and encouraging, helping students feel confident as they develop their musicianship. Online students receive clear camera angles, shared lesson notes, and digital resources to support effective learning from home.

Lesson Structure & Format
Lessons are designed to be flexible, accessible, and enjoyable.
Lesson lengths: 30 minutes ($40), 45 minutes ($60) or 60 minutes ($75)
In-person lessons in Nanaimo
Online lessons available for students outside the area (via Google Meet — no membership required)
Frequency: Weekly recommended; biweekly scheduling may be accommodated on a limited basis
Teaching approach: Supportive, goal-based, and adaptable to each student’s learning style
Materials: Method books, repertoire collections, creative exercises focused on technique and essential improvisation skills
